Valencia Old Town

Group gathered before the medieval Serranos Towers gate in Valencia

About this tour

Valencia's old town is one of the largest in Spain, and almost nobody walks it properly. In three hours we cover two thousand years: the Roman forum under your feet in Plaza de la Virgen, the cathedral built into a mosque, the Silk Exchange that made this city rich enough to annoy kings, and the Modernista market where Valencians still do their shopping.

This is the classic first day in the city - the walk that makes every other day here make sense. We set the pace to your group, stop where your questions take us, and finish somewhere you'll want to come back to on your own.

As an archaeologist I read buildings the way I was trained to read the ground: layer by layer. You'll leave knowing not just what things are, but why they're there.
